Periodic monitoring of groundwater levels and associated water pressures is very important, because these have a significant influence on the
behaviour of the ground during and after the construction of engineering works. We undertake studies under engineering works to safeguard efficient
design of drainage works that often require determination and use of contours for the piezometric surfaces to ascertain the direction of the
drainage and behavior with regards to the seasonal variations. We conduct and review various chemical tests especially for the assessment for
aggressiveness of groundwater on buried concrete, corrosive action on metals and building materials and investigating the presence of groundwater
contamination as a potential environmental hazard.
